Prayer Shawl

Ladies who take pleasure in knitting and crocheting are welcome to join First Church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry. Ladies gather once a month to work together on shawls to be given to others.

Since the Prayer Shawl Ministry began in September of 2006, over 200 shawls have been lovingly crafted and presented to residents of retirement and nursing homes, and those in the hospital, as well as those who have given birth to new babies or commemorated significant birthdays or anniversaries. Each shawl is presented with a card informing the recipient that the ladies who made their shawl prayed for them with each stitch. The Prayer Shawl Ministry recently made and personally delivered dozens of shawls to special needs residents of Elim, Bethshan, and the Highland Nursing Home!

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the second Thursday of each month from September through June. Anyone who enjoys knitting and bringing a smile to the face of others is invited to participate!
